Lynn Cheney's Racy Book

This is old news, Lynn Cheney's book was not reprinted in 2004 because the publisher thought it might hurt her husband's election campaign. Strangely enough, her work follows the Scooter Libby soft-porn with twisted sex rutine that is popular with morally depraved Republicans.

NEW YORK (AP) — A publisher has canceled plans to reissue a racy novel by Lynne Cheney, wife of Vice President Dick Cheney, after she said the book did not represent her "best work."

New American Library, an imprint of Penguin Group (USA), was going to reprint Sisters, a historical romance published in 1981 that includes brothels, attempted rapes and a lesbian love affair.

"We felt interest was growing because it was an election year and we decided it could be a timely book," Liz Perl, executive director of publicity at New American Library, told The Associated Press on Friday."

hi Demo, this is wrong on so many levels. I'm assuming that its not perceived to be in the interests of her husband to have this book resurface...but what about freedom of expression, and all that? Why would an author pretend to 'forget' the plot of a story they wrote and essentially disown a part of themselves? To be politically correct? That is so utterly spineless.
Why would the people of a democratic, 'free' country care what the wife of Cheney wrote? Unless of course, women are really just chattels and their husbands are accountable for their actions.
Geez, I don't even know this book but I hate censorship and this smacks of censorship...or manipulation. The ultra conservative leaders trying to portray themselves as something they are not.

sorry, caught me at a crabby moment.
Just went to vote tonight. our election isn't until next Monday but we voted early since our daughter will be having a tonsillectomy next week.
Its annoying to try to sort out who to back (definitely not Harper!) when every party has their own bag of garbage and skeletons rattling around.

Yeah, the choice isn't so clear sometimes, unless it's a national election. I was a Green until I realized that I couldn't vote in the Democratic Presidential Primary, so I switched.

As for Lynn Cheney, she's a liar when she says that she can't remember the plot to her book. Why should we be surprised, her husband attacks gays and lesbians at every opportunity and has a lesbian daughter. These people are all majorly messed up mentally.
