Scary, if True: Bush is Losing It.

Why not? He never had it together all that much: post-alcoholic, presenile dementia, as a doctor who wrote into the Atlantic Monthly famously diagnosed in order to account for the obvious difference between Bush's performance vs. Anne Richards and vs. Gore and in other more recent appearances, in which he can't put a sentence together.

Even Nixon, under similar pressure, who was brilliant (if also psychologically unstable), started losing it, drinking, wandering through the WH at night, and even getting Kissinger to get on his knees (hilarious image) to pray with him.

Not sure it's all "planned." Hard to keep up that kind of subterfuge.

Oh, if you watch his debates against Ann Richards, he was much, much sharper. Something has happened -- the question is whether or to what degree it is purposeful or medical.
