Bio-terrorism? Has that maniac even looked at any of the research, or the many recent documentaries about avain flu or the `Spanish` flu epidemic of 1918?
It looks pretty definate that `Spanish` flu first appeared in an army camp in the US. However, there was a war going on, and censorship was everything. The virus needed mobility, and a war gives viruses complete mobility.
There was no cure. There still isn`t.
There is, as yet, no vacine for the virus.
If there is an outbreak, it would be awfully handy for the virus if there were large numbers of people living in war-time conditions where they come into contact with other large numbers of troops from other countries.
Did someone mention Iran? Hey, that should do nicely.......

Evidently there is a problems using eggs to produce the vacine. Although flu vacines normally use chicken eggs, avian flu is so deadly that it kills the egg before it can produce a useful product. Scientists are trying to find a different way, but they are running up against a wall since their current mass-production techniques require eggs.
