CIA, Murder Incorporated?

Imperial power continues to accumulate.

But this is all quite moral -- and practical, too!

Author interviewed here. RP; other versions here.

So, we're killing people and getting information under torture, such as an operational link between AQ and Iraq, that later turns out to be false (to the complete unsurprise of intelligence professionals), that leads to killing more people.

We now know this (if we didn't already), and the Bush admin is fighting to keep torture alive, even unto death?

Stupidity, some kind of ill-advised "deterrence," or something far worse? I can't figure it out.

Reminds me of the bad thinking associated with what has been referred to as "Groupthink". Irving Janis came up with that term used for bad/risky decision-making among insular groups. He studied Bay of Pigs and the Kennedy administration.
