The increased sea surface temperature in the Caribbean have resulted in a record breaking hurricane season. A related problem is "coral bleaching" which happens when high temperatures kill off coral reefs. This is a major problem this year in the Caribbean, and greatly damages all creatures living in coral marine environments.

Maybe people will begin to realise that we have to stop messing up our wee planet and try to find solutions.

Paul made a great point, what will happen to our food supply when we lose all the river deltas to higher sea levels? Places like China and India will starve. They might be forced to hunt Americans for food. God knows we are high in fat.
