Conservative Republicans Miered in Self-Criticism

Conservative talking-head Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council was on Chris Mathews. He was very upset that the First Lady called criticism of Miers sexist. He said, and I quote, "that's just a White House talking-point." Well, no dah?!?!? Evidently some on the far right of the party feel that talking-points are now fair game, when just a few weeks ago, they wouldn't even admit that talking-points existed. It's nice to see that completely amoral people can give social benefits, at least to those of us who enjoy a good laugh.

The key thing is, the Bush coalition is showing some serious cracks. Good.

It appears that its not the ideology of the Bushies that are doing them in, its their own incompetent rhetoric. Bush is used to speaking to the Amuric'n peepul like they were third-graders, and as long as the insult wasn't directed at them, the neocon "movement" vanguard didn't find it offensive. Its only when the Bushies actually believe that the same trick will work on them that the vanguard gets cranky.

They're all victims of their own cynical bullshit spin anyway, but its nice to see them ape the chaos of the Dems for once.
