A Primer on Dominion Theology (aka "the GOP"), Or, Why They Don't Seem to Care About Katrina

Links below autolaunch in RealPlayer. From March, 2005. Excellent.

Introduction
Dominion Theology
Thy Kingdome Come, Thy Will be Done
Conclusion

43 minutes in total. Lecturer is a scholar at Cornell University's Center for Religion, Ethics and Social Policy (CRESP), "a nonsectarian, action-based educational organization with its roots in religious dialogue, human rights advocacy, and ethical thought." (Source.)

For more detail on Dominionism -- which pretty much explains what seems inexplicable to "reality-based" folks, such as Iraq, failure to actually do anything to prevent WMD-terrorism, Schiavo, tax-cuts during wartime, "worldview-based" politics, hyper-Zionism, arguments over the Ten Commandments' display, why Pat Robertson's "charity" was listed on FEMA's site, etc., etc... -- check this out:

The Rise of Dominionism (44 minutes; October, 2004).

Pay particular attention to "The Constitution Restoration Act" of 2004, which I've posted about before, I believe.

Take these people seriously. Very, very seriously. One of them is President.

Finally, an audio lecture (32 minutes; April, 2005) on Christian Zionism.

Dominionism is a cult, not a sect. People just don't know enough about how they're exploiting America's future to bring about their goofy vision of the "end times". Freaks with their hands on the button.

And what could be more exploitative of Jewish people than to see them as some giant sitting duck for the final battle against the antichrist?

Exactly -- especially on your last point, which I have tried to drive home to my few Jewish-Bush-supporting friends.
