Anderson Cooper is a Journalist

Anderson Cooper gave one of the best interviews of recent tv history when he went at Jeff Gannon. This particular interview and other have made me realize that Cooper actually has a brain and knows how to get at the truth. Today I saw a great peice he filed on Katrina. Catch it if you can, it was great. He didn't pull any punches and showed a lot of the dead bodies you don't get to see on MSM all that often.

This word, "journalist," you use -- I don't get it? Does he keep a journal, then?

I thought news was the proper result of PR -- cash payoffs and promises of access granted or threats of access denied?

Doug,

No, that's not the bit I was talking about. Cooper did a twenty minute travel-log of his time in New Orleans. It's just him and his crew in a boat. It was a very touching and real bit that made you feel . . . I don't know . . . less shame . . . for American journalism.
