Watch this REAL news on Democracy NOW!

Take a look at http://www.democracynow.org in general; this link should go to the permanent address for today's report, in case y'all see this tomorrow or later...

Essentially, Amy Goodman talks to Pulitzer-Prize-winning journalist Laurie Garrett who just quit Newsday out of disgust and frustration with the corporate management about the state of the mainstream media, including "VNRgate". (VNR = video news releases, which the Bush admin has been passing to MSM outlets that do not identify them as such in most cases. See previous posts.)

Geez, Louise. Hey, I'll be the "webmaster" on this one; I posted it. I'll take it down.

If you had read what I'd said about the Atlantic Monthly -- that it's worth subscribing to -- and if you'd seen that I kept the copyright notice and SUBSCRIPTION links purposely up, you'd see that this was as much a free ad for you guys that would generate revenue than a sharing of information. Something tells me Mr. Cooper wouldn't mind.

However, now that you've publicly made this request -- and I'm not taking the REQUEST down -- you've shown your penny-wise, pound-foolishness.

Guys, don't bother subscribing to the Atlantic Monthly. Read it at your local library. For free.

Love, "The Webmaster."

Further developments on A-Monthly: They were actually totally cool to just have us take down the article; they officially waved us having to insert the metadata that would make us unsearchable.

I can dig that; I thanked the nice guy I've been e-mailing, and will take out the nasty things I've said about A-Mnthly now. :)

Doug,

Great link. I hadn't actually seen the VNRs yet, quite scary actually.
