Mobilized against Lieberman

After a little googling, I discovered that many people are already mobilized against Lieberman 2006. They are collecting money (which will be important given Lieberman's prodigeous fund-rasing abilities) and ironing out the rhetoric.

We often talk about "picking up" a seat here or there. Lieberman is a Democrat in name only who voted with Bush on nearly every issue of importance during this session. Let's get this guy out so that we can present a united defense. After all, CT is a Blue state.

I still think Towelie could take Lieberman if we all get behind him.

Dadaist humor notwithstanding, I actually think the cartoon character Towelie is far better qualified to be a Senator than this lickspittle wanna-be Republican.

Forgive a little psychoanalysis/sociological comment, but L. strikes me as the oh-so-moralistic Jew who is just pining away to be part of the power elite in order to fulfill his parents' wishes for "success" while at the same time effacing his deeply held shame -- which many non-WASP groups feel in this country -- for not being on the "inside" in our culture.

Best explanation of this phenomenon: Joseph Heller's hilarious book _Good as Gold_, which came out in the 70s against the first wave of neoconservatives. Read it; funnier than _Catch 22_. Really.

Oh, and to anyone who might read my above comment and consider it anti-Semitic: 1. I'm Jewish; 2. I'm from Connecticut; 3. Chill out.
