Incredible how not one MSM organ even asked the question whether there any truth to Jordan's statements.

But, frankly, I'm wondering why, it this Nation article is correct, Jordan didn't take the opportunity presented by this "scandal" to present evidence to back up his claim?

I realize that he probably didn't because either: A) he knew he'd no longer have any sort of career (hi, salon.com, any openings?) - or - B) he'd have a target on his back quicker than you could say "terrorist watchlist".

However, if media spinelessness is to reverse any time soon, one of these career journalists is going to have to put their molycoddled lives on the line. Jordan has to bear some of the blame for backing off on his statements.

Don't hold your breath. Even Peter Jennings, the best of the lot, took his jabs at bloggers on The Daily Show -- while pushing his new in-depth investigation into (I swear this is true)... UFOs. God Bless Jon Stewart for saying at the end of the interview, "OK, so in 2 years we can talk about Baghdad, right?"

Nope -- the MSM is too worried about the fact that really anyone can do journalism if they dig hard, check facts, and write well. And now there's a distribution mechanism outside of the MSM's control. The hell with them; don't look for moral courage in the complicit.

MSM is FUBAR. We have to place our trust in the bloggs and remind everyone that the TV has an "off" button.

KOS did a bit on the failure of MSM to cover gannongate. This was the story that revealed how deep MSM's loyalty to the status quo is. How can this story be getting so little coverage? Sex, money, politics, homos. . . what more could you ask for?

Green Day's "American Idiot" seems to get the point. Here are the lyrics. . .

American Idiot

Don't want to be an American idiot.
Don't want a nation under the new media.
And can you hear the sound of hysteria?
The subliminal mindfuck America.

Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alien nation.
Everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
Well that's enough to argue.

Well maybe I'm the faggot America.
I'm not a part of a redneck agenda.
Now everybody do the propaganda.
And sing along in the age of paranoia.

Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alien nation.
Everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
Well that's enough to argue.

Don't want to be an American idiot.
One nation controlled by the media.
Information age of hysteria.
It's going out to idiot America.

Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alien nation.
Everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
Well that's enough to argue.
